PIONEER COTTAGE was in built in 1870, the first permanent cottage in Ocean Grove. H.Y. Lazear of Warsaw, New York had the cottage built at the corner of Asbury Avenue and Wesley Place. Recently fully renovated throughout, this magnificent piece of history is available for rent on a short term or long term basis.

Pioneer Cottage Wins Prestigious Restoration Award – Pioneer Cottage was selected as a recipient for the 2007 OGHS Beersheba Preservation Award. This highly competitive award recognizes homeowners that have revitalized and restored their property in the guidelines set forth in preserving the unique, historical community of Ocean Grove. Many groups walk past and take pictures of Pioneer Cottage as part of the historical walking tours that take place throughout the summer.
Pioneer Cottage is Going Hollywood – In September, we were contacted by producers for the upcoming Hollywood movie, GRETA (http://www.hilaryduff.com/portal/news/news.asp?item=5000119), starring Hillary Duff to gain access to the property for lighting and camera equipment during filming in the area. Ashley and I were invited to the set to see several scenes shot in front of the tents and walkway behind the house. Look for the movies release in 2008 and maybe some of these scenes with Pioneer Cottage making a cameo will make the cut!
